A restaurant on Banksville Road in Pittsburgh has been hit with a Consumer Alert.

The Allegheny County Health Department issued the alert for Mitt Indian Cuisine near Dormont after an inspection earlier this week.

Five of the 21 violations observed by inspectors are considered “high risk”.

Some of those include:

Several food items in a walk-in cooler were at unsafe temperatures (above 41 degrees), including cooked chicken sauces and rice between 50 and 52 degrees.

Also, in a walk-in cooler, raw lamb was seen behind a “loosely covered bowl of dough.” Blood had dripped onto the bowl.

Raw chicken was also seen stored above an open container of eggs and raw beef was seen above an uncovered container of vegetables.

In addition, employees were seen using poor personal hygiene and dirty knives were seen put back into a clean knife holder.

Some prepared foods were dated incorrectly, there was a lack of hot water, dirty walls and ceilings and more.

The alert remains on the county's website as of Wednesday afternoon. Any updates can be found here.
