High school basketball players in Pennsylvania may want to think twice before simulating a weapon during a game.
The PIAA has issued a memo to all basketball official associations and their rules interpreters around the state about what should be considered "unsportsmanlike" behavior and taunting.
Post-Gazette sports reporter Mike White explains to Marty Griffin what this all means for the coaches and players.
White says that pretending to shoot a bow and arrow, like college and NBA players sometimes do after making a big basket, is considered a technical foul.
“That and also any pretending any kind of gun simulation, like you make a three (pointer) and go to your head with a gun, or anything like that, will result in a technical foul immediately,” said White.
White says any similar actions can also result in ejection from the game in some instances.
