A sinkhole in Shaler Township closed a road for a period of time on Thursday morning.
The sinkhole opened up on Elmwood Drive and closed the road between Elfinwild Lane and 161 Elmwood.
Around 9 a.m., Shaler Police said the sinkhole was covered by a metal plate and the road is now open with a single-lane restriction.
