If you are a SNAP recipient and have lost food due to a storm or power outage, you may be eligible for replacement benefits.

The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services is encouraging SNAP users to contact their local County Assistance Office, the Statewide Customer Service Center, or complete an online form.

You must ask within 10 days of when the disaster occurred.

The agency states: the law allows you to get replacement SNAP benefits for the amount of food that you lost -- up to one month's benefits.
