A recently opened restaurant in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh is offering fresh, in-store made pasta sandwiches and more.

Soul Pasta on the 4900 block of Baum Boulevard opened this past fall and is the creation of Kamila, originally from Kazakhstan.

Kamila tells KDKA Radio Soul Pasta is “a restaurant in the casual street food genre.”

Soul Pasta offers customers six types of pasta to choose from, including four types of ravioli, five different sauces and a wide variety of extras to customize their pasta.

Appetizers are also available along with sandwiches made with fresh-baked bread.

After lunch or dinner, crepes, baked goods and other desserts are available.

“Cooking has been a lifelong hobby for me, and I often cooked a lot for my family, as it is part of our culture,” said Kamila.

She adds she has been living in the “kind” city of Pittsburgh for almost four years now.

Soul Pasta is open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday 12 p.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
