After 85 years, a popular South Side bar is closing its doors for good.

McArdle’s Pub, on Bingham Street, has announced “it’s with a heavy heart and soul that we announce that McArdle’s Pub will be permanently closing.”

“We have loved serving the community, making memories, and being a place where ‘everybody knows your name.’ If you are from Pittsburgh- more than likely you have come across our pub and left with a memory,” the pub said on a post on Facebook.

Owner Mike says they’ll be having one last “hoorah” on March 17 for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration.

“We hope you stop down, have one last Flaming Dr. Pepper, and send us off with a smile.
Thank for years of support and dedication. We love you all,” the post reads.

The pub will close after business on March 17.

No reason for the closure was given.
