January is finally almost over and while we still have February to get through and part of March, spring will eventually be here.
So, what kind of spring can we expect?
Looking at the Farmers’ Almanac forecast, unfortunately, we’ll have to be patient for better weather.
“Cool and wet conditions mean you’ll be dealing with muddy yards and chilly temperatures longer than you might like,” Sandi Duncan, editor of The Farmers’ Almanac tells KDKA Radio.
Things are going to be so wet and cool, that Duncan recommends gardeners begin their year inside.
“Maybe start those seedlings indoors where it's warm and dry,” said Duncan.
Duncan says there will be a “gradual warm up” this spring in April into May and then in June… it “very warm.”
If the Farmers’ Almanac holds true, it sounds like another extended winter, short spring and then right into summer.
