State Police are investigating after a child was taken to the hospital after drinking hand sanitizer.
Troopers out of Fayette County say the incident happened on December 30 at a residence on Connellsville Road in Fayette City.
State Police assisted EMS after an 8-year-old female drank the sanitizer.
Troopers spoke with the father that said she drank an "unknown amount of hand sanitizer and she has done this many of times prior."
The girl was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
She is expected to make a full recovery.
State Police say an investigation is on-going.
