PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — Pittsburgh Police, Fire, and EMS responded to a two-car collision in the Strip District Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at around 8:15 a.m. at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and 16th Street.
According to police reports, an SUV that had been traveling outbound on Liberty Avenue struck a vehicle that was turning left from 16th Street.
The car driver was freed from the vehicle and taken to the hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The driver and a passenger from the SUV were also taken to a nearby hospital but in stable condition.
The Collision Investigation Unit is currently assessing the incident.
