The Andy Warhol Museum still plans to build a new concert and event venue on the North Shore, but the proposed project has been scaled back and redesigned.

The Post-Gazette says the venue - known as the Factory Creative Arts Center - will now be reduced from roughly four stories to three, in an effort to save money.

Dan Law, Associate Director of the Warhol says it will provide positive economic impact for the city.

“It’s a big opportunity for the region to bring in another 90 to 100 shows and bring that element to the cultural life of the city,” said Law. “The second piece is live events, not concerts but think about parties, weddings, corporate events, conferences.”

Law says the new complex will incorporate aspects of Andy Warhol’s artwork.

Warhol officials plan to brief the Pittsburgh Planning Commission on the changes next week.
