The City of Pittsburgh has the results of its deer culling program in five city parks.

The archery program at Frick, Riverview, Schenley, Highland and Emerald View Parks has ended for this season with archers culling 199 deer.

Ninety two were sent to food banks, providing nearly 37-hundred pounds of venison.

That's 14-thousand meals and then some.

The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department says while that may sound like a lot---the deer population at some is still excessive.

So at Frick and Riverview, they will bring in marksmen contracted by the USDA for the pilot program, which should wrap up by the end of March.
