PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) ShotSpotter alerts notified Pittsburgh Police to multiple gun shots in the South Side a little after 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
The alert sent officers to S. 12th Street between E. Carson and Sarah St.
Shortly after the initial incident, multiple female victims showed up with gunshot wounds.
A first victim arrived at the Zone 3 police station with a gunshot wound to her leg; she was treated at the station until medics transported her to the hospital in stable condition.
Two more victims arrived at a local hospital with wounds of their own; one was shot in the hand and required surgery, the other was shot in the leg.
All of the victims are believed to have been shot at the initial scene on S. 12th Street following an altercation.
Units processed the scene and began an investigation.
Multiple people were taken in to police headquarters for questioning.
