Three teenage girls were arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase from Pittsburgh to the Turnpike.
The three girls, ages 14, 15 and 16, earlier this month allegedly ran away from New Outlook Academy, a private residential high school in Baldwin for at-risk girls.
Police believe the girls stole a work van from Brownsville Road and later led state police on a high-speed chase down the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
State police say the white Chevrolet van the girls were in was driving erratically around 8 am on December 1.
The Post-Gazette reports the van reached speeds of nearly 100 miles per hour and hit three cars.
The van stopped at a gas station parking lot at the Somerset interchange and that's where police apprehended the girls.
Police say a gun was found inside the van, but it wasn't clear if the gun was already in the van when it was stolen.
