Two teenage boys have been arrested and charged in February's shooting outside Westinghouse Academy.
Four students, three boys and a girl, were injured.
The arrests were announced today at news conference.
17-year-old James Pritchard is charged as an adult with several counts of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
A 14-year-old is being charged as a juvenile and will not be identified.
“this resulted in two individuals that caused great harm to our community and holding them accountable is most important and keeping our children safe is most important to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police and the City of Pittsburgh,” Police Chief Larry Scirotto during a news conference Thursday.
Ten shots were fired shortly after Westinghouse students were dismissed on February 14.
School staff took three students inside the building to wait for medical care and a fourth teen was driven to a hospital.
Chief Scirotto addressed the length of time it took to make the arrests.
“We won’t be rushed for the sake of expedited processes . . . we are ensuring that we are doing the best on behalf of our victims and their families and that we hold those accountable in these violent acts, accountable to all charges.”
