New data says the U.S. could lose up to $6 billion as a result of declining Canadian tourism.

President Trump's imposed tariffs on Canada, including a 25 percent tariff on Canadian imports and a 10 percent tariff on Canadian energy imports have sparked a Canadian travel boycott to the U.S.

Jeff Swackhammer, whose business is to book travel to many United States destinations, specializes in Canadians coming to the Carolinas, Florida, New York City and other domestic destinations.

“Basically, in Florida, Myrtle Beach, where the big Canadian markets are, our travel from Canada is down about 28 percent,” said Swackhammer. “I mean, some people cancel just because they don’t want to give the U.S. their money.”

He tells Michael Bartley on KDKA Radio that he's not worried about his business because he believes things will bounce back eventually.
