After it appeared it would be gone for good, rue21, a Pittsburgh-based retailer that filed for bankruptcy in May, is back under new ownership.

Nearly 60 locations across the country are either open or will reopen soon, including two in Pittsburgh.

Rue21 inside Monroeville Mall is now open and one will open at The Mall at Robinson sometime in August.

The bankruptcy filing in May was the third for the Cranberry-based company.

No official word on who now owns rue21 but a message on its newly-relaunched website says:

“Under new ownership and management, rue21 is on an exciting journey. We’re thrilled about our recent acquisition and are diligently working to revitalize the rue 21 brand.”

Previous employees are “welcome” to apply.

The website says that more stores are expected to be announced soon and are coming this fall.

Before filing for bankruptcy, rue21 had over 540 stores open across the country.
