A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect Friday night from 7 p.m. through 7 a.m. Saturday.
AccuWeather meteorologist Brian Buckingham tells The Big K Morning Show the bulk of the snow should fall before sunrise.
The snow is excepted to fall between 6 and 8 p.m.
1-3 inches of snow is expected. The highest amounts should be south of Pittsburgh.
Temperatures will dip into the mid to high 20s overnight.
Allegheny County Public Works says 25 salt trucks will be deployed across the county and will continue to play around-the-clock until the snow stops and all county roads are clear.
"It typically takes our drivers about one to two hours to complete their routes and about an hour to return to the nearest maintenance garage, reload with salt, and restart their routes," the county said in a release. "So, there might be accumulation on county-maintained roads when the snowfall is heaviest. During this storm, we encourage drivers to slow down, leave extra space between their vehicle and the one in front of them, provide extra time for their trips, and please give our salt trucks plenty of room to operate."
