UPMC celebrated the grand opening of a brand new COVID-19 vaccine clinic in the Hill District, Monday.
The facility, which sits on Center Avenue, offers all three vaccines for adults and the pediatric Pfizer vaccine for children.
Chair of Family Medicine Dr. Tracey Conti says UPMC has been in the neighborhood offering vaccines, but it was time to put down roots.
"We've done a lot of work with working with our community partners to go to various places. It is easier for patients to identify a single place to come to for those vaccines."
The new site is only temporary until UPMC opens a permanent primary care center across the street. Appointments are recommended, but not required.
UPMC's goal is to offer convenient, accessible vaccines to residents of the Hill District.
