UPMC is accepting walk-ins at their COVID-19 vaccine clinics at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills Wednesday and Thursday.

The drive-through clinic, which was initially set to use 12,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is instead offering the Pfizer vaccine. The single-dose J&J shot was paused by federal officials Tuesday over concerns of rare blood clotting in six known cases.

UPMC chief nursing officer Diane Hupp says the drive-through clinic is an easy process.

"When you come through check-in, it is a quick 10 to 20 seconds to get checked in," she said. "Most have a QR code. We have a radio station while you're going in telling you to dial in to 90.1 with instructions. Once they go through the tent, they will be quickly moved on to the vaccination station."

The clinic runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. UPMC says walk-ins will be accepted through both days.

More information about UPMC's clinic can be found on their website.
