PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Poison Center at UPMC has seen a 56% increase in hand sanitizer exposure cases over the last 18 months.
"Most of the those exposures do come in children five and under," said Michael Lynch, medical director of the Pittsburgh Poison Center at UPMC, during the KDKA Radio Morning Show Monday. "Only about six percent of those cases actually end up going to the hospital, but still. For something that's a pretty preventable exposure that's still a fairly large number."
