PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) The newest employee at the Walnut Grill in Wexford is making customers do a double-take, that's because the newest worker is a robot.
The robot doesn't yet have a name but according to the Walnut Grill's president, Kirk Vogel, it will have an important job.
With high school and college employees not returning for the summer, the use of a robot has become necessary.
A food-running robot has been bringing food to tables for a little over a week now.
Vogel says the robot frees up the servers to be more attentive to customers.
If this current trial run is successful, Vogel expects other Walnut Grill locations to have a robot of their own.
