Angela Mike joins me this week for What's Good In Your Hood to talk about Pittsburgh Public School's CTE program (Career and Technical Education). For parents of PPS students, this is definitely something you want to know about because this program isn't just learning the home row keys, auto work, or wood shop classes we participated in back in the day. The CTE program introduces students to OPTIONS to help them understand their gifts, talents and strengths when focusing on their future.

CTE offers 16 programs that prepare PPS high school students for careers in high demand fields that are crucial to our infrastructure as a society. From healthcare to personal care services, your child can become a career oriented professional before they graduate from high school.

So the days of "what do you want to be when you grow up" are long gone. They're already there, as long as Miss Mike is concerned.

Learn more about the CTE program and how your child can get started on their career choices today!

Next week, we head over to the Hosanna House in Wilkinsburgh which offers high-quality care and early education services to children from toddler age through High School.
