From hair to healing, Robyn Greer has been a public figure for black Pittsburgh for nearly 30 years.
She started her career doing hair in her Market Square salon (Robyn Greer's on the Square) then moving to the Northside. But this isn't about a beauty salon. This is about blooming beyond!
In 2007, Robyn faced tragedy of losing her oldest son, Trevor, to gun violence. A story many of us know too well today.
But instead of suffering in silence and holding in her hurt, she persevered.
She wrote a book entitled "Infected by Life" to help her heal
and then she BLOOMED to North Hills to reopen her salon naming it after her son Trevor.
The pandemic caused her to close her shop and then she had emergency surgery on her hands. You would think that would cause her to hang up her sheers but it didn't.
Robyn found peace helping others. She started a non profit helping the homeless in Pittsburgh providing blankets and using her own experience to heal from her surgery, she stated a natural healing product line called Bloom. From head to toe, Robyn found natural plants and got busy in the kitchen.
Now she's the CEO of her own business and she's using her skills in beauty to help train the youth at a community center formed by Christy and Joey Porter in Sheridan.
