To be a black business woman in this country is still a struggle for some, from getting a business loan, purchasing property, getting the acceptance and support from the community (especially ours) is not an easy task. That's what Shawna Soloman saw and wanted for herself and her peers who are also men and women in business.

She created the Black Label Market because she felt our community should also be featured during the holidays and surrounded by like minded community members who are looking for specialty products and brands like hair care products, art, clothing, and more.

So far, Shawna has curated 4 Black Label Market events and plans to expand her brand to give more men and women of color the opportunity to showcase their businesses. And it's not just an event. This program trains business owners about presentation, packaging, selling, and follow through. It's a great program for the entrepreneur who has the eagerness and ambition to take their business further than the hair salon, basement, or online.
