A Whitehall man has been sentenced to 60 months in prison after being convicted of distributing pornographic video of children.
Evidence in the court case showed that 28-year-old Scott Kaercher belonged to a group in the LIVEME app called "Anything Goes." During an online chat with an undercover FBI employee, Kaercher indicated a sexual interest in kids.
In December of 2019, he uploaded child pornography video to the group.
During their investigation, authorities were able to recover Kaercher's phone while executing a search warrant. Thousands of child porn images, including prepubescent kids and sadistic and masochistic activity were found on the phone.
In addition to the five year sentence, Kaercher is also required to serve 10 years supervised release.
Kaercher's sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Stephen Kaufman.
