With a mild winter all of last year and for most of this season, until recently, we’ve lucked out on having many difficult morning commutes.

But, that is forecast to change Friday when some possibility heavy snow comes through the area.

And with the timing coming overnight, it could make for a sloppy morning commute.

So, when you get mad at the lack of plows on your road, do you know who is responsible to clear it?

It can be confusing, especially in the suburbs of Pittsburgh when it comes to knowing who is plowing and treating roads.

Is it the responsibility of the city, county, state or private owner?

Allegheny County has a way for anyone to find out, and who to contact if a road has yet to be treated.

A website is available HERE. It separates the streets by state, county, municipality, or if its privately-owned.

Each section is color-coded and throughout stretches throughout Allegheny County.

There is also an option to call during business hours for snow or ice removal.

412-350-4636 is the number to call between 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. If it’s after 6 p.m., community members can submit any concern here.

Some communities like Mt. Lebanon are restricting on-street parking so plows can work, so check with your local municipality.
