While Governor Tom Wolf is in office in Pennsylvania, abortion access will be protected for patients in Pennsylvania, and now it will include out-of-state patients.
Governor Wolf signed an executive order Tuesday ensuring abortion access for out-of-state residents. The deal will work with reproductive health care services and health care providers on carrying out that protection.
"The Supreme Court's decision to dismantle Roe v. Wade has invoked fear and uncertainty across our nation but especially in states where access to reproductive health care services is being questioned and, in some cases, banned," said Gov. Wolf.
"As long as I am governor, I will do everything in my power to protect that right."
On June 24, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which was set in the 1970s to aide in abortion access for patients. This stemmed from a draft opinion that leaked in May via Politico.
