A man in Iowa has been arrested for allegedly setting his neighbor’s house on fire because they did not mow their lawn.
FOX 7 reports, Sioux City Police say that officers arrived at a house fire on May 23, and soon after the fire department was able to put out the blaze.
Lee Bowman allegedly admitted that he was mad at his neighbor for not mowing the lawn after asking him to do so the day before. When the man saw that his neighbor did not take care of the grass, he set the house on fire.
The fire department determined that the house had intentionally been set ablaze when they noticed a bunch of plywood and sticks next to the home. Fire rescue also said that they could smell gasoline on the property.
"Bowman was inquiring about when they would mow their lawn and attempted to remove a registration sticker off a car in the driveway," Sioux City Police said.
It’s alleged that Bowman caused $3,000 in damage, and he has been charged with 2nd degree criminal mischief, and 1st degree arson.
