National Weather Service confirms tornado in Pittsburgh

The National Weather Service out of Pittsburgh has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Pittsburgh Wednesday evening.

The tornado was surveyed in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

The NWS says it was a week, EF0 tornado on the Enhanced Fujita Scale.

Several people reported seeing what appeared to be a possible tornado in the Aspinwall area

A Tornado Warning was issued for parts of Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties on Wednesday for a little over a half hour.

Downed trees and power lines were reported all around Allegheny County. Some customers are still without power as of Thursday afternoon.
