According to police in Arizona, a human skull was found in a box of donations at a Goodwill store in the state on Tuesday, leaving workers and investigators shocked.
The Goodyear Police Department posted about the box and the skull on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
A manager at the store called the police department, sharing that they found what appeared to be a human skull in one of their donation boxes.
After arriving at the store, the police confirmed that it was a human skull and that it “appears to be historic.”
“Police took possession of what appears to be an actual human skull,” police said, according to KSAZ.
Police did note that the skull is not believed to be linked to a crime, but KTVK has reported that it was taken to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office to be evaluated.
