On Friday, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper was attacked by a suspect during an interaction that went sideways. But the story doesn't end there because the trooper's dashcam showed several bystanders pull over to help subdue the man on the interstate.

The trooper's dashcam caught the incident on video when Alexander Hernandez Delgado, 24, was stopped by a trooper and told he couldn't walk on the interstate.

Delgado protested, telling the trooper that he's an artist and was walking down the interstate because his mom kicked him out of the house, according to the arrest report, Fox News reported.

The trooper wrote in his report that he attempted to put him in the back of his patrol car when things took a turn for the worse.

"The subject became argumentative and stated that I am bothering him and that he would like to be left alone," the report said. "The subject then pulled away and then threw a punch with his left hand that [struck] me in the face."

The punch was caught on video and then it showed the two going off-camera into the median of the freeway, where the trooper said he was struck numerous more times.

An 18-wheeler and another call then pulled over, and multiple onlookers and the trooper were able to subdue Delgado together.

The Florida Highway Patrol thanked the good Samaritans for assisting the trooper when Delgado began attacking him.

"The FHP thanks all the Good Samaritans that stopped on I-4, in both directions, on Friday morning, March 18th in Tampa to help our Trooper," a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol said in a statement.

The trooper's injuries were minor, and limited to a bloody nose from the incident.

After the incident, Delgado was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence.
