PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Pennsylvania residents who have requested a mail-in ballot or absentee ballot are encouraged to deliver them in person to election offices or other drop-off locations, rather than putting them in the mail, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
According to Pennsylvania Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar, 585,000 Pennsylvanians who requested mail-in or absentee ballots had not voted yet.
"Do not put your ballot in the mail," Boockvar said. "Hand deliver it."
Voters can only drop off their own ballot, not another's ballot, and can only be dropped off until 8 p.m. on election day, regardless if you are in line.
Voters cannot turn their mail-in or absentee ballots at a polling location. They must be turned in at a designated drop off location.
Pennsylvania will allow mail-in ballots until 5 p.m. on Friday as long as they were postmarked by 8 p.m. on election day. However, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports, President Trump and other Republicans will go to court to challenge any ballots received after the polls close at 8 p.m. on election day.
The drop off location in Allegheny County is in the lobby of the County Office Building, located at 542 Forbes Ave.
The lobby will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
