The Pennsylvania Department of Health have added 8,703 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the all-time total to 445,317.
According to the Health Department, there are currently 5,561 individuals hospitalized due to coronavirus, and 1,160 of them are in intensive care units.
Most patients who have been hospitalized are aged 65 or older.
The Health Department has also added 220 new deaths as a result of COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 11,762.
For the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3 the statewide positivity rate stood at 14.4%.
Local and state officials continue to urge people to wear masks and do everything they can to help stop the spread of the virus, in part because if the rates of cases and hospitalizations continue, they will overwhelm the hospital system.
Of the total cases, 16,021 have come from health care workers.
