Multiple outlets are reporting that Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Josh Shapiro will be the next Governor of Pennsylvania.

As of 11:30 Tuesday night, Shapiro was holding a double-digit lead over Republican candidate Doug Mastriano.
Lt. Governor Austin Davis also makes history as the first person of color to hold that position.
The 49-year-old Shapiro was elected Attorney General in 2017. Some of his high profile prosecutions including a lawsuit against the Catholic Church and alleged pedophile priests.
Speaking to a group of supporters, Shapiro thanked his wife and family and said the governor’s race was a test “whether or not we valued our rights and freedoms.”
“You met this moment,” added Shapiro.
Shapiro led Mastriano in the polls for a large majority of the race that began months ago.
Shapiro will take over for Governor Tom Wolf, who will wrap up his term in January.
GOP opponent Doug Mastriano did not concede the race as of midnight, saying that there was still 30 percent of the vote and there is “a long way to go.”
