HARRISBURG (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — In the most recent wave of compliance checks, officers from the Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Enforcement checked in on 1,064 licensed liquor establishments.
Ranging from Monday, Feb. 8 through Thursday, Feb. 11, the officers investigated restaurants to check for COVID-19 mitigation compliance, such as social distancing and mask-wearing.
The officers doled out 13 violations in Pennsylvania.
They also handed down 32 warnings for failure to adhere to the public safety policies.
The compliance checks can come at random and without warning anywhere in the state.
Priority is given to areas with higher transmission rates, however.
Of the earlier-mentioned 1,064 checks, Pittsburgh received 159 of them.
Officers also gave Pittsburgh restaurants five warnings and three violations.
Those three violations were tied for the most, along with Wilkes-Barre.
Philadelphia received 17 of the warnings.
Continued warnings and infractions can eventually lead to the revocation of an establishment's liquor license.
