HARRISBURG (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced 2,610 new COVID-19 cases from Friday.
For all of the daily updates, the Department reveals changes in COVID cases through midnight of that morning.
The latest wave of positive tests brings Pennsylvania to an astonishing 1,172,288 total, going back to when the pandemic was declared in March 2020.
Along with the over 2,600 new cases, the Department also announced 2,012 patients currently hospitalized with coronavirus.
And 436 of those patients are in intensive care units (ICU).
The cases and deaths mainly occur within the 65 and older demographic, but a complete breakdown of the ages can be found on the Department of Health's website.
The statewide positivity rate for April 30 through May 6 was 6.6%.
According to the Department, 38 new deaths were attributed to COVID-19 across the state.
The Pennsylvania total is now 26,532.
