PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's Vector Management Program found a high rate of the deer tick virus in Clearfield County last week.
"23 of the 25 ticks that were collected tested positive for deer tick virus," said Christian Boyer, of the DEP's Vector Management Program.
This is the highest rate ever recorded on record.
Boyer says these ticks carry a whole host of pathogens that can make humans sick, including Lyme disease.
