COVID-19 vaccinations are set to begin next week at nursing homes across the state.

By the end of this week, Pennsylvania will have received more than 325,000 total doses of vaccines from Pzifer and Moderna. And the next shipments are already set aside for nursing homes.

"Beginning next week, the federal partnership with CVS and Walgreens will start on-site COVID-19 vaccination services for residents and staff of skilled nursing facilities across the state," said Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine.

Last week, hospitals across the state received more than 97,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Levine says it's still being administered to health care workers.

To date, nearly 18,000 health care workers have already been vaccinated, but more than 80 hospitals are still administering doses they have in stock.
