Jake Corman, the ranking Republican in Pennsylvania's state Senate, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The diagnosis comes just one day before he was expected to announce his candidacy for governor.
The Senate Republican communications office says that Corman, who tested positive despite being fully vaccinated, has mild symptoms and will quarantine at home.
No word on whether other senators and staff will get tested or quarantine.
