Health experts are urging everyone who receives a COVID vaccine to enroll in a system to track side effects.
If you've gotten a COVID shot, you probably received information about V-Safe. It's a CDC smartphone-based tracking tool to collect data about complications with the COVID-19 vaccine.
Experts say it's an important step in the ongoing monitoring of the vaccines and their FDA approval.
"Enrolling in V-Safe will prompt periodic check-ins about side effects. Reports made via these text messages that show more severe side effects will result in CDC follow-up and reporting to the long-standing VAER System if appropriate," said Amy Walker, Director of Infectious Disease Police for the Biotechnology Innovation Organization.
She testified before the House Democratic Policy Committee in Harrisburg today, urging all Pennsylvanians to get vaccinated.
