Termination of Gov. Wolf's Covid-19 Disaster Declaration postponed

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Pennsylvania State Sen. Jay Costa expressed concerns Tuesday when the Pennsylvania House voted to end Gov. Tom Wolf's Covid-19 Disaster Declaration.

"One thing that I cited quite a bit was telemedicine. So many folks have been experiencing and receiving healthcare through the telemedicine programming - that ends," Costa said Tuesday.

However, the full termination was postponed late Wednesday night to prevent some of the federal funds from being blocked.

"We amended a bill - 854 - last night to allow the administration, to allow the governor to continue to operate until September 30 with the waivers that have been in place throughout the pandemic," Costa said Thursday during the KDKA Radio Morning Show.

Telemedicine and other human service programs will still be permitted.
