Waffle House has always been there for you no matter the time of day, but especially after a night of beer-drinking.

So, it’s only fitting that it’s releasing a boozy concoction inspired by a popular side dish.

After over 60 years in businesses, the popular chain is releasing its first-ever bacon beer.

“Bacon & Kegs,” the official name, is a collaboration with Greensboro, Georgia brewing company Oconee Brewing Company.

The red ale has a 6.5% ABV.

“The beloved scent of bacon stands out from the typical medium hop aroma of a red ale,” the brewery explains. “The malty sweetness of the base beer blends perfectly with the salty, savory, and smoky bacon extract to create a delicious and unique beer. Bacon & Kegs pairs well with breakfast food items (obviously!) or can be enjoyed as a stand-alone, soon to be iconic beer.”

While the beer itself is impressive, the can also measures up with renderings of bacon, beer, the Waffle House restaurant, and the beer’s name in the style of the chain’s sign.

It was designed by local Georgia agency, Brock Company Creative.

The beer will be available on Friday, December 18, just in time for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

For now, it’ll be available in six packs of 12-ounce cans or on draft exclusively at the brewery in Greensboro.

However, this doesn't mean that you won’t be able to get your hands on it if you’re outside of Georgia in the future – both companies believe that the limited-edition beer could be followed by larger distribution.

The exciting news comes a few years after one unique Waffle House location became the first-ever to serve beer to its patrons.
