The Pirates have traded Triple-A left handed pitcher Braeden Ogle to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for catcher Abrahan Gutierrez.

Gutierrez was reportedly in the deal that would've sent starting pitcher Tyler Anderson to the Phillies, but that deal fell through do due a medical issue with another player involved.

Selected in the 4th round of the 2016 MLB Draft, Ogle has gone 2 and 2, with an ERA of 3.13 this season making 24 appearances.
He has 42 strikeouts in 31.2 innings of relief for Indianapolis.

The 21-year-old Gutierrez is batting .288 this season for the Phillies Low-A Affiliate Clearwater Threshers.

He has 51 hits, 32 RBI and five home runs in 177 at bats in 2021.

Ogle will give the Phillies some much needed support in the bullpen, while Gutierrez adds more depth at catcher for the Pirates, something they have been lacking.

The Phillies travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates at PNC Park this weekend.
