Freshmen lead Pitt blowout win over Penn State

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – They hadn’t met in eight years and Pitt took advantage of the opportunity. The Panthers (7-6) led by double-figures early, by 20 at half and finished with an 80-46 win over Penn State (8-4) in Hershey Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Roman Siulepa finished with a career-high 28 points in 30 minutes including an outstanding 5-6 from three and 10-16 FG overall. He had nearly half of the Panthers 12 made three-pointers (12-24). Freshman Omari Witherspoon had 15 points (5-7 FG), tying a career-high, with five rebounds. Guard Damarco Minor 11 points and seven assists and center Cam Corhen had nine points and eight rebounds.
