During an event with Steel City Collectibles this past weekend, former Pitt safety Damar Hamlin said it would be his dream to finish his career with the Steelers.
Hamlin was in town for an event called Topps Rip Night at Steel City Collectibles location in White Oak.
“I think ending my career, finishing as a Pittsburgh Steeler would be a dream,” Hamlin said.
Between Central Catholic and the University of Pittsburgh, Hamlin played play years at Acrisure Stadium.
“I played in Heinz Field for like eight years straight between the WPIAL Championships and Pitt so, a dream come true would be finishing my career as a Steeler.”
Taken in the sixth round of the 2021 Draft by the Buffalo Bills, Hamlin has one more year on his contract before he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
Hamlin became a household name in early 2023 after he suffered cardiac arrest on the field during an NFL game.
He needed to be revived and went through a long rehab process, returning to the Bills this past season.
Hamlin appeared in five games for the Bills last season with two tackles.
The 25-year-old is a native of McKees Rocks and is the founder of the Chasing M’s Foundation, which helps create awareness and educates on the importance of CPR and works to provide defibrillators to schools.
He also supports community youth football programs in Pittsburgh.
