Welcome to the first edition of the KDKA Radio Super 7 Basketball Watch List!
Throughout the rest of the 2021-2022 high school basketball season, KDKA Radio will recognizes some of the top boys and girls basketball players from the WPIAL and Pittsburgh City League.
At the end of the season, along with a fan vote, the KDKA Radio high school sports staff will name the winners of the prestigious Super 7 Basketball awards.
This week, two girls players who will be future teammates in college, and two of the brightest boys stars in the WPIAL, find their way onto the KDKA Radio Super 7 Watch List.
Emma Dziezgowski, Bethel Park
Dziezgowski, a senior, scored 20 points to stun one of WPIAL Class 6A's top teams, Upper St. Clair, 52-47 on Thursday night.
The win was a key one for the Black Hawks, which entered the game with a record of 2-6 overall on the season. Upper St. Clair had been undefeated.
In October, Dziezgowski – who also plays with the Western PA Bruins AAU program – committed to Wheeling University.
Royce Parham, North Hills
Parham is a name that you will likely see frequently on the Super 7 Watch List.
The 6-foot-7 sophomore is coming off a terrific freshman year and is now the driving force behind the Indians' great start to the 2021-22 season.
On Friday, Parham had 16 points, eight rebounds and 8 blocks, as North Hills took down rival North Allegheny, 69-59, in a game you heard on NewsRadio KDKA.
A day later, he scored 27 points to lead North Hills to another quality win over Montour, 78-61.
Jake DiMichele, OLSH
DiMichele has been a consistent scorer for the power Chargers program for the last couple of seasons.
On Friday, DiMichele dropped in 33 points in a 80-65 win over a strong Shenango team.
Earlier in the week, the 6-foot-3 senior went over the 2,000 point mark in his career in a 78-38 win over South Side.
DiMiichele has an offer from Seton Hill University.
Graci Fairman, Thomas Jefferson
Speaking of milestones, Fairman comes from a family full of players who have hit them.
Her three brothers and sister have all been top tier athletes, with three playing different sports in college.
Graci Fairman's turn to hit a memorable mark came Thursday. The senior point guard scored 26 points in a 49-23 win over Uniontown, eclipsing the 1,000 point mark in her career.
Like Dziezgowski, she is committed to Wheeling University.
Friday night, be sure to tune into 1020-AM and 100.1 FM NewsRadio KDKA for coverage of Montour at Lincoln Park. Beginning at 6 p.m. the KDKA Radio team of Josh Rowntree, Rick Dayton, Mike White, Cale Berger and Ben Tenuta will bring you all of the audio, social media video content from the week's biggest game!
