An embarrassing moment for the Steeler general manager was caught on camera during Round One of the NFL Draft Thursday night.
In video shown on NFL Network, wide receiver Makai Lemon is seen on the phone talking to Steelers GM Omar Khan, with his family and friends celebrating, with the anticipation he is about to be picked by Pittsburgh.
Lemon then asks, “why Philly calling?” before someone comes up with another phone announcing that the Eagles had traded for him.
The Eagles made a trade with the Cowboys to move up to #20, one before the Steelers.
Former NFL GM Doug Whaley said on The Fan Morning Show that when he was heavily involved in the NFL, the team would wait until the pick was in with the team before them, before calling their guy.
The Steelers ended up taking tackle Max Iheanachor with the 21st pick.
Everything went right for Pittsburgh on night one of the Draft, except the Steelers plan with their first pick.
To make matters worse, the Eagles trolled the entire City of Pittsburgh in the process.
