LATROBE (93.7 The Fan) – Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy said Joey Porter, Junior is dealing with an injury. McCarthy said Porter was injured during the mobility drills, which are the first on-field tests by the coaches to see what shape players are in.
“He had something that flared up,” McCarthy said. “That’s why you do the workout, it’s part of the re-entry.”
The Steelers head coach said he will take it day-to-day and won’t get into timelines with Porter, who is also looking for a new contract and the possibility of him ‘holding in’.
McCarthy said there is value for Porter, Junior to be a part of camp and he would want to see him out there.
