PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – For a decade the Steelers battled with Joe Flacco in some of their biggest game, now with their playoffs hopes on the line they will be rooting for the former Pitt QB.
The Jets announcing on Friday that Flacco will start their finale as Mike White was ruled out with a rib injury. Former first-round pick, and the quarterback that beat the Steelers, Zach Wilson will back up Flacco.

In his career, Flacco is 6-2 against the Dolphins throwing 12 touchdowns to four interceptions. The 37-year-old started the first three games of the year beating the Browns and losing the other two starts. Flacco completed 58% of his passes for 902 yards with five touchdowns and three picks this year. In the victory against Cleveland, Flacco threw four touchdowns including the game-winner to Garrett Wilson with 22 seconds left in the game.
The Dolphins will start rookie Skylar Thompson at quarterback. The seventh-round pick started a loss against Minnesota back on October 16 going 7-13 for 89 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Thompson came in for Teddy Bridgewater this past Sunday completing 12 of 21 passes for 104 yards with a touchdown and a pick in the loss to New England.
Steelers need to beat Cleveland, have the Jets to beat or tie Miami and the Bills beat or tie New England to make the playoffs for a second consecutive year.
