PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Late on Monday the Pitt basketball team added two more players, this time forwards as the Panthers move into the top five in the 247Sports transfer portal classes ranking.

Pitt basketball GM Jay Kuntz said on 93.7 The Fan they would be aggressive in reshaping the team in the portal. He said it started with evaluating its own players, as most of them are exploring other options with Roman Siulepa committing to Ole Miss.

Panthers added size after getting four guards in the portal to go with incoming freshman shooting guard Jermal Jones and power forward Chase Foster, both of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

2 newest Panthers:

F Baye Ndongo (6’9”, 240 pounds)

  • The Senegal native will have a year of eligibility and last year was Georgia Tech’s leading rebounder at 8.1 per game (7th ACC) and shot blocker (27), second with 11.8 points per game and third in steals (22). He also had 64 assists shooting 55.6% from the field and 71.6% from the foul line. Ndongo had a season-high 27 points against North Carolina. He was Third-Team All-ACC as a sophomore with 13.4 points and 8.9 rebounds including a double-double against Pitt and 29 points and 17 rebounds against NC State. Has played international basketball for Senegal and his former GT coach said he is a ‘relentless competitor’.

C Armani Mighty (6’10”, 240 pounds)

  • Was the Southern Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year at Mercer in 2025-26 averaging 10.6 rebounds with 54 blocked shots while averaging 13.2 points per game (.645% shooting). He had an 18-point, 25-rebound game in a win over VMI three months ago. Mighty spent his first two seasons at Boston College (playing all 35 games as a reserve as a sophomore), his third at Central Michigan where he never played due to a medical redshirt and then last season at Mercer.
